I am Diana Dowds, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) and I can help:
ANGRY? SAD? LONELY? Worried, stressed, overwhelmed or confused? Problems with sex or communication? I CAN HELP.
Hi. With more than a decade of experience helping people change I'm a practical, interactive, and effective therapist. My treatment blends both conventional and alternative approaches and embraces an array of styles and techniques, personally tailored for you. You and I will work together to identify patterns, face current problems, and create more satisfying relationships.
I work with adults, teens, kids, couples, families, and groups. With more than ten years experience as a clinician and a teacher, I’m competent in an eclectic base of theoretical orientations. Specializations include emotionally-focused therapy (EFT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), crisis intervention, working with trauma survivors, geropsychology, adolescent psychotherapy, and sexuality and identity issues. I have a particular sensitivity to diverse populations, especially couples, teens, LGBTQI and those working on all sexual concerns.
People have the strength and resilience to grow. I'm confident that with awareness, acceptance, and action you too can create the changes you want toward a happier, healthier you. Integrating insight, guidance, and clinical expertise I can help you build on your strengths to resolve challenges and achieve goals.
Therapy can be an empowering and life-changing experience. Life is a journey and not a destination; every journey begins with a single step in the right direction. If you’re ready to seek the help and healing you need to begin your journey and want to welcome hope and health into your life – call now. You can do it, and I can help.
A licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT), I'm currently pursuing doctorates in both Clinical and Educational Psychologies, and seeking licensure as a psychologist. I have a master's degree in Clinical Psychology/Marriage and Family Therapy, and a summa cum laude bachelor's degree in Psychology/Sociology.
