Amy is a passionate counselor believing positive change is possible at any stage in life. Her approach to therapy offers clients more than just short-term solutions to individual and relational issues. Amy utilizes Interventions including: Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Humanism, Gestalt Therapy, Mindfulness (including meditation, guided visualization, and relaxation), Play Therapy, and Supportive Therapy. Experiential techniques are used to bridge the gap between the problem-solving part of our brains and the intuitive, emotional part in order to identify the sources of issues, and develop new patterns and skills for handling them.

Amy has practiced counseling for over five years in a variety of settings including the Portland State Community Counseling Clinic (Oregon), The Department of Veterans Affairs, Family Preservation Services of Florida Inc., and The Children's Home. Her academic credentials include a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Mass Communication from the University of Denver, a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Counseling from Portland State University (Oregon), and a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Mass Communication from Boston University. Amy is licensed as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (C.R.C.), and is currently a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern with the State of Florida. Her professional affiliations include The American Counseling Association (A.C.A.), The American Rehabilitation Counseling Association (A.R.C.A.) and Chi Sigma Iota "Promoting Excellence in the Profession of Counseling."
